Fairfax Village in the western part of the city became a "LANI neighborhood" in June 1997. A Jewish cultural center for Los Angeles, Fairfax Village is home to kosher markets, stores specializing in Judaica and bakeries selling traditional Jewish products, as well as regional attractions, such as The Farmer's Market, The Grove Shopping Center, and CBS Television City. The area also hosts many unique shop's and restaurants. LANI's projects will benefit the area's large elderly population, which is overwhelmingly transit-dependent, by improving the safety, accessibility and attractiveness of the pedestrian and transit environments. |

Projects in Progress The FBA is working to secure funding to install landscaping and irrigation in two street medians. Partnerships are being established with neighboring business and sponsorships are being secured. LANI Sustainable Organization In accordance with LANI's program design, the Fairfax Village Recognized Community Organization (RCO) evolved into the Fairfax Business Association (FBA). The FBA, which received its nonprofit status in February 1999, continues the neighborhood revitalization efforts initiated by LANI and the RCO. LANI has continued to provide support services to Fairfax Village for recent projects in progress. Additional Benefits of LANI Program
