Reseda Village

Map

Reseda Village, in the West San Fernando Valley, became a "LANI neighborhood" in June 1997. This community possesses both an intimate, small-town feeling and an exciting, diverse commercial district. Although the 1994 Northridge earthquake damaged some store-fronts, it did not dampen the community's spirit. With LANI's help, the Recognized Community Organization (RCO) is recreating Reseda's neighborhood main street and paving the way for economic turn around.

LANI Sustainable Organization

In accordance with LANI's program design, the Reseda Recognized Community Organization (RCO) initially created a partnership with the Reseda Chamber of Commerce a 501c3 (nonprofit). However, the recently established Reseda Village BID (Business Improvement District) now serves as the LANI sustainable organization with its steady income from local assessments. The BID is better suited to maintain and sustain the revitalization efforts initiated by LANI. The goals of the BID are to restore the community and make it clean and safe. After 2000, LANI will continue to provide support services to Reseda, but most of their activities will be independent from LANI.
