Project Summary

Working closely with the Mayor's office and the office of Councilmember Bernard Parks, LANI has helped the West Adams community define community improvement priorities and embarked upon a facade and landscaping program utilizing Neighborhood Block Grant funds as well as funds from the Community Redevelopment Agency. This valuable investment has resulted in the revitalization of two building facades at the southeast corner of West Adams and Normandie Boulevards. Construction of the facade improvements was completed in May 2005.

Landscaping Improvements

Landscaping and fencing improvements along West Adams between Western and Vermont Avenue will further beautify the commercial corridor while creating a unifying design theme to tie together the various streetscape elements. Community identifying gateway monuments will draw attention to a community rich in history and culture, fostering increased community pride. Landscaping designs have been completed and await further funding for construction.
